About this campaign

Being in pain and knowing that we will die badly could happen to any of us. It could happen to you, or a member of your family.

As a compassionate society it’s only fair that we allow people the right to choose a peaceful death over a painful one.

That's why
End-Of-Life Choice (our organisation) is promoting the YES TO DIGNITY IN DYING campaign.

MP David Seymour’s End of Life Choice Bill received its First Reading vote in parliament on 13 December 2017 and it is now heading to a Select Committee. It is important that you support us in making your views heard and that MPs also support compassion and dignity in dying.

The bill gives people with a terminal illness or a grievous and irremediable medical condition the right to choose how and when they die.

These are the ways you can help:

Tell your MP: Tell him or her that you support YES TO DIGNITY IN DYING. Talk to them in person or find their contact details here to send them a message.

Help us with money: Please make a donation to help our hundreds of volunteers to pay for campaign messages.

Join as a member: A small contribution gives you membership status and allows us to stay in touch. Join online or by mail.

Contribute and comment: Join us on Facebook and Twitter and have your voice heard along with the majority of New Zealanders.

See the Resources page for help in communicating.
