I would like to offer my support to " Yes to Dignity in Dying"
Having worked in a hospital for many years I am no stranger to the degree of suffering endured by many unfortunate people.
Our laws need to change so that people can end their lives with dignity , surrounded by the support of their close family and sufficient pain relief.
It is quite impossible for our present Hospice situation to meet the required demand especially in places like Auckland and with a lack of Govt. funding.
I can think of four personal situations I have experienced where my relative and three very close friends were "begging to die"
Three had terminal cancer and one had motor neurone disease.
